Vintage Girl Note Cards

Happy Tuesday! I've stopped in today to share a pair of Vintage Girl Note Cards I created with the awesome Lost Coast Designs 50s Girl stamp. I l.o.v.e. this stamp! I kept the overall design fairly simple and non-dimensional, as Linda will display one of them in her paper arts show booth. I also thought the neutral colors worked well with the vintage theme.

I created the background by first spritzing Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls mist and water onto my craft mat and swirling a piece of watercolor cardstock in the puddle. When that was dry, I sprayed some Terra Cotta walnut ink on my craft mat and skated the debossed side of the Harlequin embossing folder through it, and embossed the background piece. I then matted that on chocolate brown cardstock.

I cut two decorative edged rectangles with my Silhouette, layered them in a staggered fashion, then stamped the vintage gal on the top layer. I adhered the layered stamped piece to the embossed background, added some burnt orange wrinkled ribbon and bow, then adhered the unit to a card base. I finished it off with a vintage bottle cap.

Funky Birthday

Good morning and Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! I'm here this morning to share my Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #32 - Holey Cardstock! We're being sponsored this time by the amazing DRS Designs! What a fun challenge this will be - we want to see at least one hole in your project so your stamping shows through! Yep, you read that right... hole... one or more. It (or they) can be punched, die cut or hand cut!

I chose the awesome DRS Designs Funky Birthday and Happy Moments Happy Days greeting to create this birthday card. The only embellishments I added on the front were a bow fashioned from dotted organza ribbon and some bling in all four corners.

I've been playing with some Silhouette cut files and found this four-flap nesting window card with a bracket cut-out that I fell in love with! What fun! I just bought several double-sided paper pads and I thought this print was perfect for this project! The colors are amazing!

Here are shots showing the sequence of flaps opening to reveal the birthday greeting shown through the cut-outs.

 

There is actually a little element of surprise here... the birthday greeting is a pull-out! ;)

Vintage Baby Buggy

** 6/21/14 Top 3 Favorite at Shopping Our Stash! **

Hi everyone! I sat last evening with the hubster watching a movie and created the cutest vintage baby buggy for a co-worker who is expecting a little girl in September. My inspiration came from a couple of them I saw on Pinterest a while back but there were no instructions or templates, so I made my own a couple weekends ago, and now I can't find it in my messy scrap room. :( Needless to say, when I discovered the tutorial for this one on my Technique Junkies Great Gifts CD yesterday, I was ecstatic! It's actually quite similar but it was nice to have specific measurements and not have to guess! ;)

I found this pink ruffled lace and I do believe it wins the prize for the oldest "anything" I have in my stash... the package had 1980 on it! But it's still sturdy and strong! OMG, do you believe it?! I almost fell over! Hahaha!

I just bought several new double-sided paper packs and this gorgeous vintage floral design was in one of them. I think it works very well for this project!

I knew I was going to need quite a few tiny gemstones, so I used a package of loose clear ones without the adhesive backing. It took a few minutes (or fifteen) to glue all those little buggers on! It definitely has bling! ;)

Hi everyone! Wow, another whirlwind weekend! Got my craft on for a little while, got the laundry caught up once again, had marathon phone conversations with both of my sisters, went grocery shopping and spent some time in the kitchen cooking meals to freeze while the hubby was out mowing.

I've been playing with the Silhouette and made some of the cutest baby cards. There are several "buns in the oven" at work, so some baby cards are definitely in order. The purple stamped lace was the first one I made, and buddy, I was hooked! :) Don't you just love all the details and that little hanger?! So much fun!

This lace background stamp is one of my all-time favorites. I used purple gemstones to embellish the front.

The inside sentiment is from one of my favorite Gina K Designs stamps sets.

All right, before I sign off, let me share a few more of these darling little baby onesie cards (wink-wink)! The stamped sentiment on the inside of these is the same as the purple lace one. This next one is for a boy, done in a blue and gray color scheme with a boat applique on the front.

Here is another one for a boy featuring a bold blue and green swirl print that I embellished with a Sakura Stardust pen and three gold YNS gumdrops.

And finally, another stamped lace one for a girl, done in a gray and pink color scheme with three pink flat-back pearls on the front.

With Sympathy

Good morning, everyone! June is upon us. Can you believe this year is half over already, and I have one simple question... where the heck did it go?! I'm sharing with you today a beautiful sympathy card I created as my Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #31 - Mind Your Banners! Sympathy cards are something that most of us shy away from making just because of what they represent. Death is never easy to deal with but when I saw this gorgeous Bugaboo digi, I knew what I wanted to create. I colored the image in light pinks and deep mauve colors, and added some clear Wink of Stella. I used two complimenting shades of mauve textured cardstock, then matted all the elements on black cardstock.

I punched three tiny flowers in the stitched flag die cut which I used in a vertical fashion. I just got an order of this awesome wrinkled ribbon in 11 different colors (thanks for that link, Cat!) and had the perfect mauve color to go with this cardstock. And of course I had to make a pretty double loop bow! ;)

I kept the inside fairly simple with the sentiment stamped on a scalloped die cut inked with distress ink.
