Head In Hands

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a fabulous weekend! I just wish they didn't go by so darn fast! ;) The weather here in north Florida has been wonderful all weekend... we hit 82 degrees yesterday! Just beautiful! I could dig this year-round!

I've popped in today to share a pair of note cards I created using several Lost Coast Designs stamps. I love how these turned out! They were fairly easy and a lot of fun. Definitely had some inky fingers going on! ;)

The focal image is Head In Hands, stamped in VersaMagic Pink Petunia and Pink Grapefruit inks. I created the background with the Joy background stamp, which is fairly large, stamped in Memento Love Letter ink. Then I randomly stamped the matching butterfly (from the Butterflies set) all over the background, turning the stamp with each impression, also in Memento Love Letter ink. The focal image and background were both matted on dark ink textured cardstock.

I added a pretty Parisian Motifs die cut (cut from medium pink textured cardstock) and some gorgeous pink striped ribbon to the background, and then adhered the unit to a white card base. I affixed three silver nail heads to the butterfly body on the focal image, and then affixed it to the background, along with a bow fashioned from the striped ribbon and three white flat-back pearls.

The first project I'd like to share is my "Greetings" collage created with the StencilGirl Journaling Left Hand Stencil and Lost Coast Designs Pencil Background, Mini Birds, Travel Stuff, Bingo Border and Party Words.

It's been a while since I created a collage card and I had forgotten how fun they are! I wanted to use enough elements to keep it interesting but not obscure the stencil design. And I particularly love this stencil because I'm a lefty! ;)

I used several colors of Adirondack Color Wash to create the stencil design, then began adding the elements.

I left enough room on the inside for a handwritten message in addition to the stamped sentiment.

My next project is a "Happy Anniversary" card created with the StencilGirl Midcentury Modern Elements #1 stencil and Lost Coast Designs Silhouette Lady with Umbrella, Silhouette Man with Cane and Party Words.

This colorful background was also created using six colors of Adirondack Color Wash prior to creating the stencil design with sponged Walnut Stain distress ink.

The silhouettes were stamped and fussy cut, then layered onto the background with 3-D foam pads.

I kept the inside simple with just a stamped sentiment.

And my last project is a "Let's Celebrate" card created with the StencilGirl Window Ledger 9 Stencil and the Lost Coast Designs Star Cat stamp.

I freehand cut a stool for the cat to sit on to look out the window! This stencil design was done in two steps - first I sprayed Perfect Pearls mist and let it dry. I then repositioned the stencil ever so slightly up and to the left, and sponged Fired Brick distress ink

Here's a peek at the inside - a simple sentiment stamped in Paris Dusk ink.

Celebrate Your Day

** 3/23/14 Highlighted at Use Your Stuff! **

Hi everyone! I treated myself to a little time in the scrap room today to finish up a project and make two others. I feel like I accomplished something! This birthday card is an all-green project created for a few challenges. The crocuses were already stamped and paper-pieced as I intended to enter my friend Donna's tag challenge last week but sadly had too much going on to finish it. As they say, "when one door closes, another one opens" so the partially finished project was quickly transformed into a new one!

I used the Gina K Designs Signs of Spring stamp set and paper-pieced the crocuses with scraps of patterned green paper and a lighter shade of textured green paper. Green is my favorite color so it wasn't hard to dig through my paper stash to find several different shades and patterns! ;)

Lots and lots of green going on here! I used postage stamp and notebook paper dies, along with a huge green bow that I created with my Bow It All.

I stamped Happy Birthday inside, and decorated the lower left corner with stamped leaves and a butterfly.

Color Washed Angel

Hi everyone! Several months ago I purchased six colors of Adirondack Color Wash and made several really pretty pieces to use on some cards. I created this pair of cards with a couple of those pieces and two Lost Coast Designs stamps. I've fallen a little behind in posting the samples I created for Linda to post in her booth when she travels to paper arts shows, and I'm jumping back into it with great guns, so stay tuned for more Lost Coast Designs projects over the next few weeks!

These color washed angel cards were super easy and pack a fairly big punch! I spritzed various colors of the color wash on pieces of Tim Holtz water color cardstock. I let them dry while I worked on another project, then ironed them between layers of a folded piece of copy paper to set the ink. I stamped the Silhouette Angel on the color washed pieces and matted them on black cardstock.

I then stamped the Corner Swirl in random fashion all over pieces of kraft cardstock, turning the stamp with each impression, and matted them on black cardstock. I adhered the color washed stamped focal images to the stamped kraft pieces, then adhered the units onto kraft card bases.

Girl's Ruin

Hi everyone! As Bombshell Stamps Ms. March Pin-Up, I'm super stoked to share a project I created using the very awesome Girl's Ruin stamp set and a modified version of the February Bombshell sketch! I absolutely LOVE this stamp set and this sketch! I used some gorgeous glitter paper and a couple coordinating papers with a retro feel, and matted the elements on black cardstock.

Here's an angled view so you can see the glitter paper I used that was so perfect for this Bombshell stiletto! I stamped the front sentiment on clear cardstock and attached it vertically, and used very few embellishments so as not to detract from the focal image.

I just love this sentiment! And I have to say that money and shoes are definitely two of my favorite things! ;)

Always and Forever

Howdy crafty friends! I'm super stoked to be hosting the challenge at Mod Squad Challenge Blog this week! My theme is "Cut It Out!" and my challenge is to create a project with HAND-CUT embellishments... can be one, five or 50, but they all have to be hand-cut! No die cuts allowed this time! ;)

I used the awesome GKD Lots of Washi stamp set for my CAS anniversary card. I used shades of pink and red ink, lining up the washi strips, then hand-cut a large heart. I inked the edges and adhered it to medium pink cardstock layered on dark pink cardstock. I applied a white eyelet on each side of the heart and ran some baker's twine through each side and tied it in a bow. I stamped the front sentiment (from the GKD Always and Forever stamp set) in the lower left corner, then adhered the entire unit to the card base. I finished the front with four assorted red and pink buttons from my stash.

The inside sentiment is from the GKD True Love stamp set.

You color my world

Hi everyone! I'm back this morning to share my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #26 - Buttons and Bows! Come play with us! I used the Fresh Squeezed Stamps Happy Hexagons stamp set for my birthday card. This is my first Washi tape project - I have quite a few rolls of it and have never used any... why, I don't know! So when I saw this stamp set, I knew it had to go with some Washi tape and bright colors!

I matched the colors of the Copic markers with the colors of the Washi Tape, and of course the buttons had to match, along with the tiny bows! Lovin' the bright birthday colors!

I decorated the inside with two colors of the Washi Tape matted on black cardstock, along with the happy birthday sentiment.

Drink Up!

Hi everyone! I'm back with my Bombshell Stamps Ms. March Pin-Up hat on, and thrilled to share another project I created for my Bombshell Bingo challenge this month! Come play with us! This is just like any game of Bingo - choose a row or column (diagonal is okay too) from my  Bingo Board and use all those items on your project!

I used the amazing Man's Ruin stamp set. The items I used from my Bingo Board were flowers, fancy border, skulls, ribbon and blue.

I went outside the box a little with this one... it's a get well card! "Drink Up!" could relate to the NyQuil/DayQuil, Pepto or Alka Seltzer! Plus I think this bombshell would make anyone feel better, don't you?! (wink-wink!)

I stamped the inside sentiment with a stamp from the Basic Banners stamp set.

I wasn't able to play with Bombshell's December sketch, so I used a modified version for this card.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi everyone! It's been a super busy weekend and I treated myself to a little time in the scrap room this afternoon to create a springtime card to enter into some challenges. Seems that everyone is so ready for spring to arrive and there are lots of springtime challenges going on! ;) We've been very fortunate here in north Florida to not have had much of the severe weather that a lot of others have had this winter.

I used the cutest little Gina K Designs stamp set duo that I just love! I kept with a simple white and navy blue color scheme and angled all the elements. I colored up the wheelbarrow in shades of "steel" (gray) and the flowers in dark purple, pink, red, yellow and green. I used a bit of Stardust pen in the center of the flowers for a little shimmer.

If you angle your monitor upward just a bit, you can see the white on white stamped background that I created with a fairly large GKD background stamp. This turned out really neat and is a great addition to the CAS look! I finished it with double wrapped navy blue twine and a small button from my stash, along with some silver gumdrops in the upper right corner.

I stamped a simple Pink Cat Studio friendship greeting on the inside.

Hot Rod Classic

Howdy, everyone! I'm proud to be the Bombshell Stamps Ms. March Pin-Up, and my challenge for you this month is to play Bombshell Bingo! Come play with us! Like any good game of Bingo, choose a row or column (diagonal is okay too) from my Bingo Board below and use all the items on your project!

I chose the column straight down the center - hot rods, pink, free, die cuts, pearls - to create my Hot Rod Classic birthday card.

I used a very cool hot rod stamp from the Speed Shop stamp set along with some coordinating MME papers. These papers have pink in them and a vintage feel to go with the old car. I matted all the elements on dark pink cardstock. I created Italian flourish doily and ticket die cuts, and used tiny white flat-back pearls in the upper right corner and small pink flat-back pearls in the lower left corner.
