Holiday Gifts from Little St. Nick

Good morning, everyone! I've popped in to post my DT inspiration project for the Inky Impressions Challenge this week which is IIC #132 - Traditional Christmas! I used the adorable Little St. Nicholas stamp along with some papers from a fabulous 6x6 Christmas paper pack that I unearthed in 'the drawer' several days ago. I just love them!

Isn't this little guy just adorable in his Santa suit?!

Bombshell Stamps October Hump Day Hop

Hi everyone! As a guest designer for Bombshell Stamps, it's my pleasure to welcome you to the Bombshell Stamps October Hump Day Hop! The theme this month is Witching Hour, so sit a spell and take in all the Bombshell talent! You're definitely in for a real treat! ;)

I used the October Bombshell sketch for my Spook-tacular card. I love sketches and this is a very cool one. The focal image is the Bombshell Pin-Up dressed in a Bombshell Halloween Costume digital stamp! How fun is that?! I created the background on the red cardstock and the spider die cut in the lower right corner with stamps from the Bombshell Stamps Tattoo Backgrounds stamp set. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

The black and white papers are from a paper pack that I recently won in a card challenge, and I just love them. I used some eyelets with white flat-back pearls in the openings.

I adhered the Pin-up in her Halloween costume to the spider web background with dimensional foam pads.

Eeewwww... what a very scary spider... ;)

The inside sentiment is included in the set of Halloween Costume digital stamps, and I carried over two of the papers I used on the front.

I'm batty for you

OMG... I had the best time creating this Halloween card! The Inky Impressions challenge this week is IIC #141 - Halloween or Orange and Black! Come play with us! I chose the awesome "Batty For You" circle digi for my card. Yes, generally Halloween is associated with orange and black, sometimes with a bit of yellow, but I went whole hog with some lime green and purple along with the orange and black! I've seen a zillion Halloween creations over the years with this awesome color combination, so there lies my inspiration to create a clean and classy (but bold) card for this challenge! ;)

I'm just lovin' this digi! So simple but yet so dynamic when used with these bold colors!

Unfortunately I can't take credit for this goober little computer-generated sentiment - I've seen it all over the place this year! But it does go very well with the digi, don't you think?!

go with all your heart

Ewwwee... we're fast approaching the end of October and that means Christmas is just around the corner. I still cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. I've popped in today to post my DT inspiration project for our Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog's "Play Some Blues" challenge! We're being sponsored this time by the amazing Delicious Doodles! Come play with us! This is a color challenge... you must use shades of blue on your project. This was quite fun, actually! I've never in my life colored blue hair! ;)

I chose the uber gorgeous Fairy Fae digi for my encouragement card. I just love, love, love the inside sentiment I chose... "Wherever you go, go with all your heart." It's a Confucious quote from the GKD Wild at Heart stamp set I purchased a few weeks ago.

I used four different shades of blue textured cardstock and did something a little different than normal. I butted the matted background up against the right edge without leaving a border of white and then placed the focal image to the extreme right. I'm a rebel like that and I think it looks pretty cool! And I'm still lovin' the all-blue! ;)

I used a mini butterfly with angel wings die that I haven't used in quite a while, and the fairly new Piestra Tile die that I just love. The only other embellishment needed was a few blue flat-back pearls.

And here's that awesome sentiment that I just love. No truer words were ever spoken!

I put a spell on you!

Hi everybody! Despite this weekend literally flying by, I did find a little time to play in the scrap room and got a few things accomplished - I put some finishing touches on the birthday card I made last weekend, I started a totally awesome "spooky" Halloween project that I'll showcase a little later this week, and I made this uber cool Halloween card using the fun colors of black, orange, purple and lime green. I absolutely love this color combination and this is actually the second card I've created with it... the first one is for a DT inspiration project that I'll reveal in a couple days, so stay tuned! ;)

I've been playing with Bombshell stamps again! The best part of making this card was dressing this Pin-Up up in her Halloween costume! They have a digital clothing line (hehehe) for the Pin-Up that is just amazing! All you have to do is download and print the outfits on either patterned paper or cardstock if you want to color them yourself. OMG - so much fun! ;) And, by the way, all the digital clothing sets all come with a variety of sentiments!

I layered the orange on black, and the purple on black, then layered it all on the lime green. Embellishments are minimal with just black flat-back pearls and a small pumpkin. And I just love that sentiment!

The inside sentiment is layered on the black, orange and purple cardstock, and I stamped a spider web with a big ole' black spider! ;)

Happy Fall Y'all!

Good morning, everyone! Guess what?! It's that time again... The Inky Impressions challenge this week is IIC #130 - Fall/Autumn, so that means we want to see your fall/autumn projects! Come play with us! It's that time of year... my favorite time of year... when the weather starts cooling off and the air gets crisp, and that general 'warm and fuzzy' feeling envelops us! Love it!

I used "Scarecrow Fun" which was one of last month's new releases at Inky Impressions. What a fun image to play with! I dug around in 'that drawer' and found another 6x6 paper pad that I forgot I had. I like to stack these small paper pads flat rather than store them like tilted books (so they don't warp) and the drawer is deep, so unfortunately I forget about what gets shuffled to the bottom! Needless to say, I was happy finding this pad because the papers are perfect! ;)

OMG - what cuties! The colors in the paper were incorporated into the image, and I used a falling leaf brad, some gorgeous orange ribbon and a little bit of bling. ;)

The falling leaves were carried to the inside to compliment the computer-generated sentiment.

So many reasons to be Thankful

Hi everyone! I've been busy in the scrap room, FINALLY feeling human after being sick with some kind of crud since last weekend. Not sure if it was the flu or just plain crud, but it was nasty and had me down for several days. My mojo has been rockin' and I have created six cards... yep, six! Four are DT inspiration projects (I like to work ahead if I can), one is for a hush-hush birthday coming up and one is purely for my playing pleasure! I think the mega mojo and six cards in two days is a record for me so I'm very proud of myself! Hehehe!

I've been perusing my Technique Junkies Fancy Folds and Motion specialty CD and found this hidden slider card that's just perfect on so many levels. Pair the action mechanism with an awesome sentiment and a great card is born. Plus I unearthed a wonderful 6x6 paper pack that I forgot I had... a treasure trove of double-sided papers... and I just had to use some. You'll be seeing more of them in another project that I'll reveal later this week, so stay tuned!

The sentiment is slowly revealed as the sliding portion of the card is pulled upward out of the sleeve.

I stamped some lace on the sliding cardstock so it wouldn't be so bare. It needed a little something but I knew I couldn't go overboard because it had to be able to go slide back down into the sleeve. And check out my hand-cut flower pot, too, by the way! ;)

Here's that beautiful sentiment. I added a tiny die cut butterfly.

And another tiny die cut butterfly is perched on one of the gorgeous stamped flowers. I incorporated the colors of the paper into the ink choices for the flowers.

Hippie Birthday!

It's time for a new Inky Impressions challenge! This week it's IIC #129 - Sparkle and Glitter! Come play with us! There will actually be two winners this week - one will receive $10 to spend in the Inky Impressions online store and the other will win 3 Inky digis!

For my DT inspiration project, I used the super cute "Nickie Running Late For School" stamp. But I didn't use her in a school theme... I saw "flower child" so that's the direction I took! ;) I love these fun bright papers that are definitely hippie-esque! I used a relatively new notebook paper die (used without the lines) and a new sentiment flag die, along with a doily die that I've had a for a while and just love. Both the front and inside sentiments are computer-generated.

OMG! Is she just adorable, or what?!

Although you can't see it well in these photos, there is a good bit of sparkle and glitter here. I enhanced several portions of the image with a Stardust pen; the doily is covered in pink glitter; we have a silver charm, gemstones and flat-back pearls; and the ribbon even has a shimmer to it!

Yep, there's even a little bling on the inside!

Hi everyone! I'm back to share with you my DT inspiration project for our Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog's Recipe challenge this week! We're being sponsored by the awesome Bugaboo Digi Stamps! Come play with us! The recipe is 3 papers/cardstock (patterned or solid), 2 flowers and 1 die cut.

I chose the "Pink Ribbon Gals - Stella" digi image for my note card. I just LOVE this little lady! Besides October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, my grandmother was my inspiration for creating this card. I never met her, as she died before I was born, from metastatic bilateral breast cancer. They didn't have all the medical advances back then that we have now, and I pray that some day a cure for all kinds of cancer will be found.

I chose a pink and milk chocolate color scheme for this note card and I distressed it to give it a vintage feel. In keeping with the challenge recipe, I used two pink patterned and one brown cardstock, two flowers, and a Spellbinders Fleur de lis Squares die cut to which I adhered the colored Stella image.

I kept the layout simple with one horizontal panel matted on the chocolate cardstock. Other than the two flowers, the only other embellishments are pink and chocolate flat-back pearls. I left the inside blank, as this is a note card.

For my DT inspiration project, I used the uber sweet Lili's Chalkboard rubber stamp. I happened across a Treasures by Shabby Chic 6x6 paper pack that my sister had given me some time ago, and these lovely papers are all in shades of blue which were so awesome for this challenge! I matted several layers in navy blue, and created the dark grey "chalkboard" with white text on the computer and trimmed it down to size. I'm lovin' the giant blue bow, and check out the clear Inky Dinky drops in the lower left corner! Love this stuff! ;)

Guest Designing for Bombshell Stamps!

Woo-hoo! It's official... now I can blab! The Bombshell Stamps designers and guest designers for the October 2013-March 2014 term have been announced! I've been dubbed the Ms. March Pin-Up and couldn't be more excited! ;)



I mentioned about a week and a half ago that I would have some pretty exciting news to share and this is it! I'll be playing along as a guest designer for the next six months so stay tuned for some pretty awesome challenges in store, as well as some pretty amazing projects by the very talented design team and the other five guest designers! I'm super stoked to be using Bombshell's fun vintage stamps - they have everything from tattoos and retro pin-ups... to bikes, street rods and sugar skulls! The fun is just beginning! :)
